Can't you design?

Sensory perception according to Immanuel Kant:

We do not simply perceive the world as it IS - it appears to us through the forms of space and time. This means that even before we think or interpret, our experience is structured - shaped.

No - just as you can't not communicate. But can't you simply leave out design from time to time?
We sometimes ask ourselves this question. Does everything really have to be designed? Here is a brief excursion into philosophy:

Inspired by Immanuel Kant's theory of knowledge, we come to the following conclusion:
All our perceptions are never "unformed".

In his Critique of Pure Reason (1787), Kant shows:
We do not simply perceive the world as it IS - it appears to us through the forms of space and time. This means that even before we think or interpret, our experience is structured - shaped.

This is exactly where design comes in:
At studio elan, we do not see design as an embellishment of content, but as part of perception itself. Whether space, brand or image - how something appears influences what we recognize in it.

Kant himself did not use the term "design". But his philosophy suggests:
There is no appearance without form - and no experience without appearance.

So design cannot simply be "omitted".
The question is rather: how consciously is it used?
